The Nature Center’s programs provide learning experiences that are integrated across disciplines and linked to real world issues. These programs give students an opportunity to experience how science is done and to engage in the critical thinking and collaborative conversations emphasized in the Common Core State Standards.

To help educators through the transition to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Effie Yeaw Nature Center naturalists and docents will work with each teacher to ensure that our educational programs meet specific standards being used for their grade level and classroom/district. For information regarding which California Science Standards are supported in each of our programs, please click here to send an email request.
